MS Wrestling Update

Today’s (12/03/2019) middle school wrestling meet at St. Charles will take place at the old high school gymnasium at St. Charles High School.  Please use the main athletic entrance at the front of the high school.  The high school’s address is 881 West Walnut Street, St. Charles.  The meet will start at 4:30 p.m.

MS Basketball/Wrestling Cancelled

The girl’s middle school basketball game at Birch Run and the middle school wrestling meet at Carrollton have been cancelled for today, November 12.  Makeup dates have not yet been determined.

Winter Sports All-Conference Awards

The Tri-Valley Conference recently released their all-conference awards for the winter sports season, and Millington student-athletes were well recognized. Boys’ Basketball The boys’ basketball team had four members honored by the conference.  Senior Shawn Pardee, who broke Millington’s single season scoring (681) and assist (121) record this past season was a 1st Team All-conference selection

Four Wrestlers move on to Regionals

Varsity wrestling had four wrestlers qualify for the regional tournament that takes place at Richmond High School next Saturday, February 20. Jared Roehl went 3-0 on the day for a first place title at 189 pounds.  Brady Payne went 2-1 at 140 pounds for second place.  Chris Gould also went 2-1 for second place at

Wrestling TVC Tournament

Millington wrestling competed in the always tough Tri-Valley Conference Tournament this past Saturday at the Birch Run Expo Center. Brady Payne who is currently ranked #4 in the state went 2-1 on the day and finished in second place.  His lone loss of the day came in the championship match in the 140 pound weight

Wrestling at Lakeland Invitational

The varsity wrestling team had three wrestlers place this past Saturday at the Lakeland Invitational.  In the 140 weight class, Brady Payne (ranked #5 in the state) finished 4-0 on the day and with a 1st place medal.  Payne won his championship match over Jackson Rickman of Trenton High School by the score of 8-4.

Injury Plagued Wrestlers Drop Two to State Ranked Caro and Birch Run

Voids, injury, and illness continue to plague the wrestling team as they lost twice on Wednesday night – 51-18 to #7 state ranked Caro and 66-12 to #8 state ranked Birch Run. The Cards did have two wrestlers that went 2-0 on the day.  Brady Payne, who is currently ranked #5 in the state, won

Varsity Wrestling at Gatorade Duels

The Varsity wrestling team traveled to Marysville High School on Saturday to compete in the Gatorade Duels.  The team went 0-4 on the day mostly due to the fact that they had to start every duel with voids which put them in a point defecit they were not able to overcome.  Wrestlers have good days

Varsity Wrestling Splits

The varsity wrestling team split a league match today, losing to North Branch 50-23 and beating Frankenmuth 42-25. Wrestlers going 2-0 on the night included, Dakto Tatro in the 119 class, Brady Payne at 145, Jack Shreve at 171, and Chris Gould at 189. The Cardinal Gapplers will return to action on Saturday, January 16
