CARO – After a successful week of volleyball on their home court, the varsity volleyball team struggled on the road on Saturday at the Caro Invitational.
Millington lost 2-1 to Ogemaw Heights, losing the first and third sets 25-14 and 15-12. Millington won the second set 28-26. Next up they dropped a match to Merrill. The Cardinals won the first set 25-23 before dropping the next two 25-13 and 15-9. The host team Caro took all three set against Millington by the scores of 25-22, 25-17, and 15-11.
Kate Cooper led the team on the day with a team-high 21 kills, and seven aces. She also picked up 22 assists. Haley Cain finished the day with 20 digs, 17 kills, and a 100% serving percentage.
Emily Martin had a team-high 33 assists, while Karsyn Payne had a team-high 27 digs. Dylan Holmes had 19 digs and a 100% serving percentage. Kenzie Trato added 17 kills, while Chloe Bremer added 19 digs.
Millington (6-6, 4-2) next hits the court on Wednesday, October 14 when they travel to conference foe Hemlock. Match time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The match will be live-streamed on the NFHS Network. This is a subscription-based service. Subscriptions can be purchased on an annual basis or a monthly basis through the NFHS Network when you click on the subscribe button. The live stream can be viewed from any computer browser, apps for both Apple and Android devices, or on Apple TV, Roku, or Fire TV. Each subscription will allow the user to not only view Millington events that are live-streamed but other high school events as well. A portion of each subscription is donated back to Millington Athletics.
