CARO – Millington used four sets to dispatch of Caro on Monday night to earn their 35th win of the year. After Caro won the first set, Millington won the last three. The scores were 20-25, 25-8, 25-22, and 25-21.
“We were very happy to get this tough non-league win tonight,” Millington head coach Michelle Bouck told Millington Athletics. “We can now set our sights to winning the TVC-E championship on Wednesday (vs. Birch Run). It’s been 20 years, and we think that’s long enough.”
The leaders on Monday night were Addi Cooper with 37 assists and 11 digs. Kaitlyn Ill had 20 kills and 17 digs. Grace Kowitz had 16 kills and six blocks. Erin Schwab and Darrien Roberts each had 12 digs.
The Cardinals now not only turn their attention to conference championship but also the school record for wins in a season. “We’re also chasing the 42 win record,” Bouck said. “The girls earned number 35 tonight. We still have Birch Run on Wednesday, the TVC tournament on Saturday, and the MHSAA tournament starting next week to accomplish that goal.”
