MILLINGTON – The Millington softball team continued their hot hitting ways and strung together 34 hits in a sweep of Clio on Thursday night by the scores of 14-4 and 16-4.

Millington three hits apiece from Leah Denome, Gabbie Sherman, Sydney Bishop, and Madi Hahn in game one. Denome had three doubles and three RBIs. Hahn had two doubles, and Bishop had a double and two RBIs. Sherman had two RBIs.

Elizabeth Bees had two hits with a double and an RBI. Darrien Roberts, Hannah Rabideau, and Sabrina Gates each had one hit.

Sherman won her 11th game of the season throwing four innings and striking out eight while allowing only one unearned run.

Game 2 would see Millington pick up another 17 hits, as Denome (2B, 2RBIs), Gates (RBI, 2R), and Roberts (4 RBIs, 3R) pick up three hits each.

Sherman and Bishop each had two hits, while McKenna Slough, Hahn, Bees, and Addi Cooper each had one hit.

Gates improved to 3-0 on the year when she struck out four batters through five innings pitched.

The Cardinals play in the Michigan Stars Tournament this weekend at Creasey Bicentennial Park in Grand Blanc.
