The strength of Millington’s forwards ended up being the difference as the Cardinals pulled out a Tri-Valley East victory over Bridgeport by the score of 43-39.

“All three of our forwards were in double-figure rebounding tonight,” said coach Christian Selich. “Liz (Elizabeth Selich) had a huge night with another double-double. Hannah (Hall) got the most minutes of the year and Madi (Hahn) was big on the boards again.”

Elizabeth Selich led the trio of forwards tonight with season highs for both points (17) and rebounds (14). She also collected her 500th career point early in the first quarter of the game.

Hall finished with nine points and 11 rebounds. Hahn had six points and 12 rebounds.

“We came into the night shooting just 48% from the line,” said Christian Selich. “Tonight we were 10-15 including 5-7 in the fourth quarter. None bigger than Taylor’s (Wirsing) two at the end of the game to put it out of reach.”

Wirsing finished with two points, five rebounds, and four assists. Makayla Bremer scored six points and dished out four assists. Sydney Olmstead finished the scoring with three points to go along with her three assists.

The Cardinals (2-4, 2-1) return to action on Thursday, December 21 when they play host to Caro (1-3, 0-2). Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
