FLINT – After a defeat earlier in the day at the hands of the #7 team in the state in Divison 3, New Lothrop by the score of 11-5, Millington would bounce back in the consolation finals of the Mid-Michigan Baseball Showcase played at Whaley park by defeating Lakeville by the score of 10-4 to finish in 3rd place.
Freshman Hunter Norris would pick up the win for the Cardinals throwing four innings while surrendering just one hit and one unearned run.
Lukas Selich, Cole Hill, and Kohlton Sherman would lead the Cardinals offensively for the day; each picking up three hits. Selich had two doubles, scored three runs, drove in one run, walked and stole two bases. Hill had one double, scored three runs, drove in two runs, and stole three bases. Sherman had two doubles, drove in two runs, and stole two bases.
Drew Germain and Keagan Butterfield each had two hits, while Kyle Paquette and Trevor Ogg each added one hit.
The Cardinals (10-14) return to action on Monday, May 21 when they host Vassar (17-7) for a non-league doubleheader.
