The Millington varsity volleyball team will begin its postseason run Wednesday, November 4, when the Cardinals host Reese in an MHSAA Division 3 district semifinal at 7:00 p.m. Millington enters the tournament with a 23-10-3 record after finishing second in the Big Thumb Conference White Division standings. The Cardinals will look to continue their success against a familiar conference opponent, having defeated Reese twice during the regular season. Millington swept the Rockets 25-19, 25-17, 25-13 at home on September 24 before picking up another victory at Reese on October 22. Wednesday's district tournament will feature two semifinal matches at Millington High School. Valley Lutheran and Vassar will meet in the opening semifinal, followed by Millington and Reese at 7:00 p.m. A Cardinals victory would advance Millington to Thursday's district championship match against the winner of the Valley Lutheran-Vassar semifinal. Admission is $8 per person. Tickets may be purchased in advance through the GoFan app or at the gate using a credit or debit card. Cash will not be accepted, and regular-season passes will not be valid for postseason contests. Fans unable to attend can watch the game exclusively on the NFHS Network.
