The Millington JV football team scored in every quarter and posted its second shutout of the season with a 40-0 victory over Cass City on Thursday evening. The win improved Millington to 5-0 and extended the JV program’s winning run to 24 consecutive games. Lucas Fluty opened the scoring on a 19-yard touchdown run with 5:49 remaining in the first quarter. Fluty then connected with Caleb Paquette for the two-point conversion, giving the Cardinals an 8-0 lead. Paquette intercepted a Cass City pass in the second quarter before making another impact on offense. Fluty found Paquette for a 47-yard touchdown pass with 1:48 remaining in the half, and Fluty added the conversion run. Millington scored again as time expired in the second quarter when Fluty connected with Easton Myers for an 18-yard touchdown. Jace Terwilliger ran in the conversion to give the Cardinals a 24-0 halftime lead. Paquette added his third big play of the game in the third quarter, returning a punt 67 yards for a touchdown. Easton Weakman scored the two-point conversion to extend Millington’s lead to 32-0. Myers completed the scoring with a 20-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter. Peyton Linhart added the conversion. Millington will travel to Reese on Thursday, October 1.
