UNIONVILLE — Millington girls golf returned to the top of the Big Thumb Conference standings Wednesday, winning the BTC jamboree at County Line Golf Course with a team score of 197. The Cardinals finished six strokes ahead of runner-up Cass City, which shot 203. Ubly was third at 213, followed by Sandusky at 244, Laker at 251, Caro at 254, Bad Axe at 257 and Akron-Fairgrove at 263. Junior Logan Matusik led the field with a 46 to earn medalist honors. Freshmen Abbi Hoffman and Courtney Matusik each shot a 48 and tied for fourth overall. Senior Zella Hascall and juniors Brooke Milostan and Lola Ratza each finished with a 55, tying for 10th. The victory was another strong conference performance for Millington, which has finished first in six of its seven nine-hole BTC jamborees this season. The Cardinals return to conference play Monday, September 28, when they travel to Verona Hills Golf Club for the next BTC jamboree.
