CASS CITY — The Millington varsity volleyball team pushed No. 4-ranked Cass City in two tight sets Thursday night before falling 3-0 in Big Thumb Conference action. The Cardinals had opportunities to take the opening set, but Cass City prevailed 28-26. The Red Hawks followed with a 25-18 win in the second before Millington battled back in the third, falling 26-24. Kallie Stevens led the Millington attack with eight kills and added 11 digs. Carly Ehrmantraut finished with seven kills and 22 digs, while Gianna Nitz recorded five kills and Brooklyn Barden added four. Kate Murray directed the offense with 23 assists. Grace Ehrmantraut led the Cardinals defensively with 24 digs, while EmmaLeigh Peters added 10. Millington returns home Thursday, September 24, when the Cardinals host Reese at 7:30 p.m.
