CHESANING — The Millington cross country teams turned in several improved times Thursday at the Chesaning Invitational at Twin Brooks Golf Course. Claire Burrows led the varsity girls, placing 13th among 148 runners. She finished the course in 20:54.36. Brynn Burrows followed in 14th place at 20:54.70. Carolan Emmons placed 34th in 22:19.06. Millington did not record a team score with only three runners competing. Gavin Blue paced the varsity boys, placing 75th among 162 runners in 19:50.70. Kolten O’Neil finished 93rd in 20:20.03, while Daniel Williams placed 110th in 21:02.56. Zephanaeha Soler Cardona completed the Cardinals’ varsity lineup, placing 146th in 23:48.72. Millington also had five middle school runners compete in the races. Garrett Emmons placed fifth in the boys' race in 11:50.24. Jaclyn Funsch led the Millington girls, placing 15th in 14:08.75. Helayna Laurin finished 73rd in 17:49.47, Emmah Sherman placed 81st in 18:56.06, and Kataleia Olejnik was 89th in 20:20.98. The Cardinals return to action Tuesday, September 22, at the County Press Invitational at North Branch High School.
