The Millington junior varsity volleyball team split a pair of matches this week, falling to Caro in three sets Tuesday before bouncing back with a three-set victory over Cass City on Thursday night. Against Caro, Taylor Watson directed the Cardinals’ offense with 16 assists while adding four digs. Emma Garl led Millington at the net with seven kills and added three aces. Aubrey Wascher finished with four kills and five digs, while Brynnlee Watts added four digs. Millington responded Thursday night with a three-set victory over Cass City. Garl led the way with nine kills, four aces and two blocks. Wascher added four kills, while Mia Wagner contributed two aces and two blocks. Watts led the defensive effort with 14 digs, and Annabelle Pennell added 12. Watson finished with 11 assists. The Cardinals return home Thursday, September 24, when they host Reese at 6 p.m.
