CARO — The Millington girls golf team continued its run atop the Big Thumb Conference on Monday, winning the BTC jamboree at Arrowhead Golf & Grill with a team score of 205. The meet was Millington’s fifth consecutive BTC jamboree victory. The Cardinals finished 11 strokes ahead of runner-up Ubly, which shot 216. Cass City placed third at 222, followed by Sandusky at 237, Caro at 257, Akron-Fairgrove at 263, Bad Axe at 277 and Laker at 280. Freshman Courtney Matusik led Millington with a 49, finishing second overall. Junior Logan Matusik was one stroke back with a 50 and placed third, while freshman Abbi Hoffman shot a 51 to finish fourth. Senior Zella Hascall and junior Brooke Milostan each carded a 55 and tied for ninth. Freshman Brielle Hayes rounded out the Cardinals’ lineup with a 59. Millington has now won five straight conference jamborees, taking first at Rolling Hills, Woodland Hills, Willow Springs, Ubly Heights, and Arrowhead. The Cardinals return to action Tuesday, Sept. 15, for another BTC jamboree at Rolling Hills Golf Course in Cass City.
