The Millington junior varsity volleyball team battled Unionville-Sebewaing Area in a three-set match Thursday night, falling 25-22, 18-25, 15-9. USA took a close opening set 25-22 before the Cardinals responded in the second. Millington evened the match with a 25-18 victory to force a deciding third set, where the Patriots pulled away for a 15-9 win. Brynnlee Watts led the Millington defense with 15 digs, while Aubrey Wascher added 14 digs and a team-high three aces. Taylor Watson directed the offense with 11 assists and also recorded two blocks. Emma Garl led the Cardinals at the net with five kills and three blocks, while Arianna Desgrange added four kills. Millington returns to action Tuesday, Sept. 15, when the Cardinals host Caro at 6 p.m.
