UBLY — Millington girls golf continued its run through the Big Thumb Conference on Thursday, winning the BTC jamboree at Ubly Heights Golf & Country Club with a team score of 197. The Cardinals finished nine strokes ahead of runner-up Cass City, which shot 206. Host Ubly was third at 225, followed by Sandusky at 234, Bad Axe at 250, Caro at 265, Akron-Fairgrove at 275 and Laker at 281. Junior Logan Matusik led Millington and earned medalist honors for the second straight jamboree, firing a 44 to finish four strokes ahead of the field. Freshman Abbi Hoffman continued her strong play with a 48, good for third overall. Freshman Courtney Matusik added a 52 and finished eighth, while senior Zella Hascall rounded out Millington's four scoring rounds with a 53 and placed 10th. Junior Brooke Milostan shot a 62, while junior Lola Ratza finished with a 68. Thursday's victory marked Millington's fourth consecutive BTC jamboree championship. The Cardinals have won at Rolling Hills, Woodland Hills, Willow Springs and now Ubly Heights. Millington returns to BTC action Monday, Sept. 14, at Arrowhead Golf & Grill in Caro. The conference schedule lists Arrowhead as the next stop in the BTC jamboree schedule.
