The Millington JV football team held Laker scoreless through three quarters and extended its winning run to 22 games with a 14-6 victory Thursday evening. Neither team scored during the opening quarter, but Jace Terwilliger helped stop a Laker possession with an interception. Lucas Fluty broke the scoreless tie in the second quarter with an 83-yard touchdown. Malakai Curtis-Dunkerson then connected with Levi Bobrowski for the two-point conversion, giving Millington an 8-0 halftime lead. The score remained unchanged through the third quarter as the Cardinals’ defense continued to keep the Lakers out of the end zone. Fluty supplied another long scoring play in the fourth quarter, racing 53 yards for his second touchdown of the game and extending Millington’s lead to 14-0. Laker scored later in the quarter, but the Cardinals kept the Lakers from getting any closer. Millington improved to 3-0 and has won 22 consecutive games. The Cardinals will travel to Caro on Thursday, Sept. 17.
