MILLINGTON — The Millington varsity volleyball team picked up a pair of victories Wednesday at the Kandace Milostan Memorial Quad, finishing the night 2-1. ([Millington Athletics][1]) The Cardinals opened the quad with a 25-21, 25-16 victory over LakeVille. Millington then battled Marlette in a three-set match. After dropping the opening set 25-20, the Cardinals responded with a 25-23 victory in the second and closed out the match with a 25-15 win. Millington's lone loss came against Ubly, with the Bearcats taking the match 25-19, 25-18. Kate Murray directed the Cardinals' offense with 42 assists and added eight aces. Carly Ehrmantraut led the attack with 22 kills while serving six aces, and Kallie Stevens added 17 kills. Grace Ehrmantraut led Millington defensively with 26 digs and also recorded five aces. The Cardinals are now 7-2 on the season and return to action Tuesday, Sept. 8, when they travel to Laker High School.
