The Millington JV football team scored twice before Ithaca recorded a first down and forced four turnovers in a 52-14 victory Wednesday evening. Easton Myers returned the opening kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown, and Lucas Fluty added the two-point conversion. Millington’s defense then forced Ithaca into a three-and-out before Caleb Paquette returned the ensuing punt 48 yards for another touchdown. Malakai Curtis-Dunkerson connected with Fluty for a 24-yard touchdown pass, and Fluty later scored from 67 yards out to give the Cardinals a 26-0 lead after the first quarter. Millington’s defense created four turnovers during the game. Vance Mays and Fluty each recorded an interception, while Levi Bobrowski and Elijah Boedecker recovered fumbles. Paquette added touchdowns of 34 and 59 yards in the second quarter as Millington built a 38-0 halftime lead. Curtis-Dunkerson threw a 39-yard touchdown pass to Hunter Mansfield in the third quarter, and Aiden Yaklin ran in the two-point conversion. The Cardinals carried a 46-8 advantage into the fourth quarter. Cameron Nitz completed Millington’s scoring with a 53-yard touchdown in the final quarter. Ithaca scored twice during the second half to account for its 14 points. Millington improved to 2-0 and will travel to Laker High School on Thursday, Sept. 10.
