CASS CITY — The Millington cross country teams opened their 2026 season Wednesday at the Cass City High School Invitational at Evergreen Park. The girls placed fifth among eight scoring teams, while the boys finished eighth in a 12-team field. Claire Burrows led the Millington girls, placing 19th with a time of 22 minutes, 45.57 seconds. Brynn Burrows followed in 20th at 22:45.94. Harlo Schenk finished 27th in 23:32.44, Carolan Emmons placed 34th in 24:02.08, and Chloe Premo recorded a time of 34:03.15. The Cardinals finished with 117 points. Harbor Beach won the girls' team championship with 56 points, edging Yale by three. Masen O’Neil paced the Millington boys with a 19th-place finish, completing the course in 19:27.15. Gavin Blue placed 39th in 21:16.62, followed by Kolten O’Neil in 53rd at 22:19.39. Evan Foley finished 57th in 22:33.58, while Daniel Williams placed 72nd in 23:04.29. Millington totaled 208 points. Croswell-Lexington won the boys team title with 70 points. The Cardinals return to action Wednesday, Sept. 9, at the John Bruder Classic at Shepherd High School.
