Three members of Millington's softball team have earned statewide recognition after being named Honorable Mention All-State by the Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association for the 2026 season. The association recognizes the top softball players from across Michigan each year. Senior second baseman Kamryn Blackmer closed out her Cardinal career with a record-setting season at the plate. Blackmer hit .411 and established a new school record with 23 doubles. She also scored 53 runs and drove in 38, serving as one of the catalysts for Millington's high-powered offense throughout the season. Senior catcher Karlie Sherman also received Honorable Mention All-State honors after putting together one of the most productive offensive seasons in the area. Sherman batted .421 with 21 doubles and six home runs while driving in 64 runs. Her production in the middle of the lineup and leadership behind the plate helped guide the Cardinals during their postseason run. Sophomore pitcher Ashlyn Bentoski rounded out Millington's trio of All-State selections. Bentoski compiled a 24-11 record in the circle with a 2.136 earned run average. In 216.1 innings pitched, she struck out 236 batters, establishing herself as one of the top young pitchers in the state while playing a major role in the Cardinals' success. The three Honorable Mention selections highlight the depth and talent of the Millington softball program and add another chapter to the school's tradition of producing players recognized by the Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association.
