The Millington Cross Country Team opened it season today in Shepherd at the John Bruder Classic. Over 500 athletes from 32 schools competed. On the boys side Nic Yorke led the way, running a personal best of 20:15. Brandon Rude debuted with a strong time of 21:00. Luke Williams came in at 23:07 in his first meet, and Alden Rodammer finished with a strong 23:40.
Kierrah Butterfield paced the girls team in her first ever meet, running the course in 26:25. Right on her heals was Olivia McVey who ran a 27:04. Addison Kean had her debut and finished with a strong 33:57, while Danielle Kociba, Vanessa Selich, Emma Hoard, and Aroura Drubin all knocked minutes off of their best practice times this year.
The team travels to Bullock Creek’s Stratford Woods Park on Tuesday for its first TVC West Jamboree of the year. The boys run at 4:30, and the girls will follow.
