DETROIT – The Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association (MHSBCA) honored Millington assistant baseball coach Tim Roberts as one of their Assistant Coaches of the Year on Thursday night at Comerica Park before the annual MHSBCA All-Star game.
Roberts who is a social studies teacher at Millington High School has been an assistant coach for Manager Chris Dipzinski for 12 years.
“It was an incredible experience, a great honor, and one that could not have been done without some truly awesome people,” said Roberts of the award. “First and foremost, the true MVP, Robin Roberts (his wife), who continually sacrifices to schedule around practices, games, meetings, etc., to allow me to coach high school baseball. I was blessed to share last night with my family and my parents, Bruce Roberts and Barbara Roberts. Also, thanks to all of the incredible coaches I have had the opportunity to share time with on and off the field, David Elliott, John Gravlin, Billy Cork, Chris Dipzinski, Christian Selich, Tony Zimmerman, Nathan McCrory, and so many more. It is because of guys like you that baseball and life continue to be taught the right way! Thank you all.”
