Cardinals News · Millington lands 4 on All-Conference teams

SAGINAW – Tri-Valley coaches recently gathered at Valley Lutheran High School to choose the post-season all-conference teams.  The Millington girls’ basketball team was well represented on the teams.  The Cardinals ended up with two players making the second team and two players receiving honorable mention.

Senior Leah Denome was a second-team pick by the coaches.  Denome finished the regular season averaging 12.5 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game.  Her 446 career points rank her 15th in school history.  She will be attending Spring Arbor University in the fall on a softball scholarship.

Junior Austin Palmer was also a second-team pick.  Palmer finished the regular season averaging 9.5 rebounds per game, six points per game, and two blocks per game.

Senior Samantha Ayotte was an honorable mention pick.  Samantha finished the regular season averaging 5.3 rebounds per game, two assists per game, and 3.2 points per game.  She will attend Central Michigan University in the fall and major in speech and language pathology and communication disorder.

Sophomore Anika Sykes rounds out Millington’s all-conference selections as she was also an honorable mention pick.  Sykes finished the season averaging 6.4 points per game and two assists per game.

The first-team in the Tri-Valley East was comprised of Garber’s Ellie Klein and Isabel Baranski, Birch Run’s Sarah Miller and Emmaly Miller, Frankenmuth’s Kelynn Kujat and Brooklin Karwat, and Bridgeport’s Ruby Garner.
