MILLINGTON – With the softball team’s win over Sandusky on Tuesday afternoon, they now advance to the Michigan High School Athletics Association (MHSAA) Division 3 semi-final game on Friday, June 15, 2018. first pitch is scheduled for 10:00 am at Secchia Stadium located on the campus of Michigan State University (MSU). Secchia Stadium is a 1,100 seat stadium that features 120 chairback seats, press box, sound system, and accessible seating. The brick accents on the outside of the stadium architecturally match historic Jenison Field House.
The #1 ranked Cardinals (38-2) will be playing the Sanford-Meridian Mustangs (25-10) who are an Honorable Mention ranked team. If Millington wins they will play the winner of the #3 ranked Clinton Redskins and the #2 ranked Coloma Comets. The state championship game would be Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 3:00 p.m. The game would still be played at Secchia Stadium.
Admission to enter the stadium is $8.00 per person. Directions from the Millington area are; I-69 South to US 127 South to Trowbridge Road exit. Turn left (north) at first traffic light, which is Harrison Road. Turn right (east) on Kalamazoo Street. Parking available at Jenison Field House on the left; Secchia Stadium is located behind Jenison Field House.
