Meet Recap

Lake Fenton finished first in the Ryan Mercer Memorial Tournament on Saturday afternoon with 265 points.

Millington and Pontiac tied for second with 158 points while North Branch finished third with 109.5 points.

Rounding out the top five were Imlay City with 109 points and Lapeer with 101 points.

Five wrestlers placed first, all by fall, in their respective weight classes for Lake Fenton including Hunter Corcoran at 119-pounds, Jackson Nevadomski at 125-pounds, Devin Melick at 130-pounds, Tristen Nevadomski at 160-pounds and Trent Hillger at 215-pounds.

Two wrestlers placed second for Lake Fenton, which included Bobbie Kinkaid at 103-pounds and Brenden Carr at 130-pounds.

Millington had five wrestlers finish first in their respective weight classes including Dakota Tatro at 103-pounds, Johnnie Freeze at 135-pounds, Brady Payne at 140-pounds, Chandler Sweeney at 152-pounds and Jared Roehl at 189-pounds.

Christopher Gould placed third for Millington at 171-pounds by fall at 0:23.

Pontiac had one wrestler place first in his respective weight class. Alontay Jones won at 140-pounds by a 14-12 decision. Two placed second in their weight class. Two wrestlers placed second in their weight class.

Two wrestlers placed third for Pontiac including Malik Parker at 135-pounds and Marquise Thomas at 152-pounds.

Lake Fenton will wrestle with North Branch on Jan. 3rd at 9 a.m. while Millington will compete in the Freehand Invitational on Dec. 30th at 9 a.m. Article courtesy of MLive.
